Lifted jasmine aromas, blueberry complexity and
concentration.
This has a core of slightly rugged currant and fig paste, espresso and loam flavors, all held together by cassis bush and tobacco notes. A touch amped up with toast, but shows solid character. Drink now. 400 cases imported.Bright medium ruby. High-pitched aromas of red- and blackcurrant, licorice and leather complicated by spicy and floral notes. Smooth-grained but tightly wound, with very fresh, imploded flavors of blackberry, minerals and licorice. A firm spine of acidity contributes to an impression of finesse and lifts the finish of this medium-boded wine.
Finca Decero, once a bare patch of soil in the Argentine foothills of the Andes, is now a one of a kind vineyard, where each vine is nurtured by hand and the resulting wines are made without compromise. As Decero means ’from scratch’, they have developed an amano or ’by hand’ approach to winemaking. All of Finca Decero’s production derives from their 271 acre Remolinos vineyard whose soils consist of silty clay over sandy gravels. The name Remolinos refers to the tiny whirlwinds in the area that thread their way along the vines, keeping the grapes dry and in perfect condition. The grapes are hand-picked, hand-sorted, and processed in the estate’s gravity-feed winery. Winemaker Marcos Fernandez works with consultant Paul Hobbs.
