The 2006 Coyam is blended from six grape varieties led by Syrah, Merlot, and Carmenere, all biodynamically farmed. Crimson-colored, it reveals a lovely spice box and blue fruit bouquet, a supple palate-feel, and an elegant personality. It may well evolve for 1-2 years but lacks the depth and concentration of the outstanding 2005 version. Drink this flavorful effort from 2010 to 2016.Ripe and muscular, with freshly plowed dark earth, currant, fig, bittersweet cocoa and tobacco notes all wound up under a layer of dark, spicy toast. Flashes of graphite and minerality lurk on the finish. Needs time to come together. Syrah, Merlot, Carmenere, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Best from 2010 through 2012. 3,000 cases made.
