Marquis Fruit Weight (your guarantee of quality): 70%
Deep violet in colour, The Scooter offers a perfumed nose, intense with red fruits, cherries and plum. The rich fruit is followed by layers of spice, chocolate and wonderful fragrant oak. This wine is well balanced, round and giving, showing generous ripe fruit and soft tannins producing an outstanding Australian Merlot. Named after Sparky's scooter-racing years, when he would race 30 kilometres on a big-tyre scooter. The grapes were grown on the Gemtree and Mollydooker vineyards in McLaren Vale. Barrel fermented and matured in 90% American and 10% French oak using 20% new and 80% one year old barrels.
